On the Set of ‘Two and a Half Men’: Ashton Talks Social Media Trends
“Extra’s” Mario Lopez visited the set of “Two and a Half Men” and hung out with stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer, along with executive producer Chuck Lorre.
Much like his character Walden on the hit CBS show, Kutcher is into technology, and he talked to Mario about a new trend in social media. “There’s a new social network called Next Door, and it’s just for your neighbors. You define your neighborhood and connect with all your neighbors.”
Ashton is playing Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in the biopic “jOBS,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year. “I’m really excited about it. I think we’ve found a home for it and were going to be setting a release date soon. We actually showed the film to the original Mac team. They came up to me and were like, ‘Thanks for giving us two more hours with Steve’… that was the greatest compliment I could ever get.”
As for his second season on “Men,” Kutcher said, “This season's great because I actually know some people's names that I work with. I was like walking into an already built family. Now I feel like I'm a decent stepchild. They let me sleep on the set.”
Mario also chatted with Jon Cryer, who laughed, “The biggest challenge [this season] is letting go of my vanity. There was a time when I got into this industry because I felt like I was a good-looking young man… those days are gone.”
Creator Chuck Lorre has no regrets after 10 seasons. “We’re having a good time,” adding that Ashton allowed them to invent a new character. “Ashton’s character has come a long way. He can bring it!”
