Jodi Arias Breaks Down, Throws 'Mean Girl' Stares in Court
The Jodi Arias murder trial (watch the live streaming video below) took an emotional turn on Tuesday when the accused killer was forced to watch video of her and victim Travis Alexander during happier times. Jodi followed the tearful breakdown by glaring at Travis' ex-girlfriend, Deanna Reid, a witness in the case.
Trying to debunk the defense's claim that Jodi was Travis' “dirty little secret,” the prosecution called friend Jacob Mefford to the stand. He told the court that the two were “affectionate, like a couple,” and showed video he shot of them hanging with friends, her head in his lap.
In addition, a photo shown to the court showed Arias in a bathrobe with Alexander standing behind her, kissing the back of her head.
Jodi's demeanor changed when Deanna took the stand. Reid dated Travis in 2000 and again from 2002 to 2005 when she returned from a Mormon mission to Costa Rica.
She admitted to having sex with Alexander, but described a very different relationship with the motivational speaker.
“Travis never laid a hand on me… never called me names, never abused me, never touched me in an improper fashion,” Reid told the court, adding, “we continued to be close even after breaking up.”
