'DWTS': Lisa Vanderpump Bounces Back, Carrie Ann Inaba Sheds Tears
It was one dramatic night on “Dancing with the Stars” as Lisa Vanderpump took the stage after a fainting spell, and Carrie Ann Inaba broke down in tears over Andy Dick’s Viennese waltz.
Lisa’s dancing future could be in serious jeopardy after her “blackout” during rehearsals on Thursday. The “Real Housewife” was jet-setting and rehearsing all week with partner Gleb Savchenko, and the exhaustion caught up with her as they practiced the cha cha.
She wrote on her blog, “I was in shock when I woke up. I fainted only once before in my life. The doctor found that I had a viral infection with fever and swollen glands… I ended up with low blood pressure and a rapid heart rate, which is why I fainted.”
Vanderpump, who is still "fighting off the bug," decided to compete Monday night at the last minute. Fellow contestant Kellie Pickler told “Extra,” "She wasn't able to do dress rehearsals or anything.”
Pro Derek Hough helped convince her to compete, telling us, “She wasn't going out there and I told her… just go out there and get through it.” The judges understood, but Lisa and Gleb still tied for last place with just 18 points.
Bruno Tonioli told Vanderpump, “Hopefully, you get yourself together and you show us what you can do next time.”
Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas earned 27 points and took the stop spot with teams Kellie and Derek,, with Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy close behind. It was Andy Dick, however, who left a lasting impression.
Andy, who found himself in the bottom two last week, dedicated an emotional Viennese waltz to his 15-year-old daughter.
“This has been the best year, because of sobriety,” said Andy. “My daughter Meg is the apple of my eye. We have a super special relationship… my troubles become their troubles. I've put them through hell.”
The judges were moved and Inaba simply broke down in tears, “Come here,” she told Andy, before giving him a hug. “It was so beautiful, like the simplest poem. What you said with those few moments was so beautiful.”
Andy later told “Extra,” “I knew there was a connection with the father-daughter thing but, I did not know her dad passed away recently.”
