Honey Boo Boo and Rosie O’Donnell: TV’s New Odd Couple?
The new queen of television, Alana “Honey Boo Boo Child” Thompson, and mom June stopped by The Grove on Monday to talk with “Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli about Rosie O'Donnell's offer to buy them a new home.
"We appreciate the gesture, it was very kind,” replied June, “But we love our house. We are not looking for a handout, but we do want to renovate to a two bedroom and a bathroom."
Later that evening, “Extra’s” AJ Calloway caught up with O’Donnell in New York and relayed June’s message. Rosie exclaimed, "I would help! I could get in there. We can get a deal with Home Depot. It will be a special, the 'Honey Boo Boo's Home Depot Christmas with Your Host Rosie O'Donnell,' and we will do carols and Christmas cupcakes and cookies.”
Rosie said she loves the Thompson family. “I really do want to meet them. A lot of people disagree, but I see love in that family. I see every child going to the one kid's event. Like most people in the country who live in a close state to poverty, nutrition is difficult to maintain and to get. I look and I see a family that loves each other and to me it's very touching. But I would like to hang with them at least one day!”
