Talk show host Anderson Cooper wants his supporters to know he is thankful for their kind words.
On Monday, the Daily Beast posted a statement from Cooper in which the journalist said he was gay, writing that he “couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud.”
Within hours, celebrities began tweeting their support. "I'm proud of you, @AndersonCooper," wrote Ellen DeGeneres, while
Neil Patrick Harris sent his good wishes, "Good for you, @AndersonCooper. You're awesome." (Both messages have been re-tweeted almost 5,000 times).
The CNN journalist, 45, then responded Tuesday, tweeting, "I appreciate all the nice tweets. I am in Botswana working but want to wish everyone a great 4th of July!"
