Elizabeth Taylor's Jewels to Be Auctioned
Screen goddess Elizabeth Taylor was often seen dripping in sparkling gems.
Taylor's estate will soon auction some of her most famous jewels to the public, and sales are expected to rake in $30 million.
Some of Elizabeth's most famous pieces will be sold in the auction, including the enormous $2.5-million 33-carat diamond platinum ring given to her by ex-husband Richard Burton. The ring was purchased by Burton in 1968 for $305,000.
Taylor, who expressed her desire to have the jewels auctioned off after her death in her 2002 book, "My Love Affair with Jewelry," said, "I never, never thought of my jewelry as trophies. I hope whoever buys them gives them a really good home." Elizabeth died in March at the age of 79.
The Christie's auction will take place December 13 and 14 in NYC. Click here for more information about the auction.
