'Spy Kids' Cast Roundup: Alba on Baby, McHale on 'Extra'
"Extra's" Renee Bargh sat down with the cast of "Spy Kids 4" -- Jessica Alba, Jeremy Piven and Joel McHale -- and talked babies, impressing the kids, and loving shows like "Extra"!
Alba, due next month with her second child, told Renee it was a little difficult doing all the stunts in "Spy Kids 4" with a baby strapped to her.
"Babies are heavy," the actress laughed. "It wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't in head-to-toe leather in the summer with high-heel boots!" Oh, so Alba doesn't wear that at home? "No, I'm usually in flats when I'm carrying my kid around."
Piven said he wanted to play the villain in "Spy Kids" to impress his nieces. "I can't show them 'Entourage,' so I hope I'm going to earn some respect from the kids. That's all I'm trying to do right now. I'm tragic."
McHale jokingly said he just did "Spy Kids" for "the money." But he did say he loves poking fun at shows like "Extra" on his E! show "The Soup." McHale explained, "My favorite thing about your show is when they do those montages to set up the nine stories you're gonna tell, and they have no relation to each other - like, 'Guess who's having a baby? AND bears are falling out of trees!'"
"Spy Kids: All the Time in the World 4D" opens August 14.
