Cheryl Burke: 'I Was Molested'
Two-time "Dancing with the Stars" winner Cheryl Burke has revealed that she was molested as a child.
Burke tells People that she was repeatedly molested by a family friend, a trusted retired mailman. The abuse began when she was just 5 years old.
Cheryl opened up about this painful part of her past in hopes of helping others who might be facing the same unfortunate circumstances. "I'm telling my story. They're not secrets. There's no shame." The 26-year-old also sheds light on former abusive boyfriends in her new book, "Dancing Lessons
."
Cheryl will continue showing off her moves on season 12 of "DWTS" in March.
