'Australia's Next Top Model': And the Winner Isn't...
Ah, the hazards of live TV. "Australia's Next Top Model" host Sarah Murdoch (Rupert's daughter-in-law) announced the wrong winner during Monday night's finale, after she was unfortunately given incorrect information.
As Murdoch named model Kelsey Martinovich the "Top Model," the young Sydney woman began jumping up and down, hugging the supposed runner-up Amanda Ware, giving her acceptance speech. Then Murdoch's face begins to change as she realizes she's been fed the wrong information.
"Oh my God, I don't know what to say right now," Murdoch interrupted. "I'm feeling a bit sick about this. I'm so sorry about this, oh my God. I don't know what to say. This is a complete accident, I'm so sorry. It's Amanda... it was read to me wrong."
Watch the uncomfortable moment!
Martinovich handled it very gracefully - and for the faux pas, was also awarded a $25,000 prize and trip to New York, along with Ware.
