'Glee,' 'Modern Family' Celebrate Emmy Nods with 'Extra'
"Extra" raised some champagne glasses with a select group of newly anointed Emmy nominees, including stars from "Modern Family," "House" and "Glee" -- which nabbed 19 nominations.
"Glee" star Jane Lynch isn't mincing words about her nod for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In true Sue Sylvester fashion, she quipped, "I'm gonna become a friggin' nightmare!"
The hit FOX show's 19 nominations is "kind of outlandish," Lynch laughed, "Maybe even a little over the top. It may be too much."
Lynch's co-star Chris Colfer, aka Kurt, also gave "Extra's" Terri Seymour his reaction to his nom as Supporting Actor. "I was making several high-pitched noises, which probably alarmed the neighbors."
Best Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Lea Michele added, "My neighbors complained the other day that I was making too much noise in my apartment, so it was a whisper. A big whisper! And no, I didn't break into song."
The "Glee" gang is taking on another newcomer in the Best Comedy Series competition -- "Modern Family." The show's Supporting Actress nominee Sofia Vergara, who was also one of the presenters for the early morning Emmy noms, told "Extra," 'I'm going on vacation first, for two weeks to Italy, to eat pasta. Oh my god, no, I can't eat 'cause I've got to fit in that dress!" Wah-wah.
"D-List" nominee Kathy Griffin, enjoying the "Yummy Cupcakes" we brought her, hopes nominee Conan O'Brien, who got a nod for his short stint as the "Tonight Show" host, gets his just desserts!
"I think Conan should absolutely prepare to say something heinous. Maybe this is the year of the redhead revenge. How about that?"
Finally, "Extra" sipped champagne with "House" star Hugh Laurie, popping the Moet for his fifth nod as Best Actor in a Drama Series. "My little heart flutters. I have a huge heart, and I can hardly contain it!"
"Extra" will be there with all the winners when the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards airs Aug. 29!
