'Shrek Forever After' Opens Tribeca... in 3D!
The 2010 Tribeca Film Festival will open with the world premiere of Dreamworks' "Shrek Forever After," in 3D.
As the fourth and final chapter in the animated franchise, "Shrek Forever After" is another chapter in the adventures of the beloved ogre, Shrek -- in which he finds himself in an alternate universe where he hasn't even met Fiona -- and the first of the series to be presented in 3D. It is directed by Mike Mitchell and stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas.
Jane Rosenthal, co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival, said in a statement: "We have always sought to open our Festival with films that are captivating and strike an emotional chord with movie-goers. 'Shrek Forever After' combines the very best in storytelling and artistry while showcasing the wonders of innovative 3D filmmaking. It is one of the most anticipated new movies of 2010 and we are so pleased that DreamWorks Animation is bringing the final chapter of Shrek to the Tribeca Film Festival for its world premiere."
The premiere will take place on Wednesday, April 21 and the Festival will run through May 2.
