Gokey Goes on 'Idol'
The spotlight has faded on Danny Gokey, leaving "American Idol" hopefuls Kris Allen and Adam Lambert as the finalists who will battle it out for the title!
Gokey, a widower and 29-year-old church music director, had been a strong contender in the singing competition since week one -- regularly impressing the judges with his vocals. On Monday, Danny's heartfelt rendition of Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" was labeled "stunning" by Kara, and "a vocal master class" by Simon.
During the results show, "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest revealed that only 1 million votes out of 88 million cast separated Kris and Adam, which suggests that Allen may have a better chance against Lambert than the public and media originally thought.
Lambert has been considered the frontrunner for weeks now, and Katy Perry showed some love for the 27-year-old San Diego native last night! The "I Kissed a Girl" singer performed on the show, wearing a cape stitched with Adam's name.
Will Adam be crowned champ as so many media outlets have suggested? Will Kris turn it out with the biggest "Idol" upset in history? Tune in to FOX next week!
