No Saving Grace on 'Idol'
Country music couldn't save Memphis native Alexis Grace. The 21-year-old was sent home last night on "American Idol."
"I wish I could've done better," she said after her ouster. "But, you know, things happen for a reason."
The four judges were not blown away by Alexis' rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" on Wednesday night's Grand Ole Opry-themed performance show. The judges allowed the single mom to perform an encore. Randy, Simon, Paula and Kara had the new Judge's Save rule to use if they wanted, but the second time around still wasn't up to par.
"It was good, but it wasn't good enough," Simon said. "Sorry. It's the end of the line I'm afraid."
27-year-old Michael Sarver was also in the bottom along with 16-year-old Allison Iraheta. The 10 finalists remaining are Sarver, Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy and Scott MacIntyre, who will all go on to tour after the 'Idol' is chosen.
On next Wednesday's performance show, the top 10 finalists will perform Motown tunes.
