Charlie: Battle with Denise an 'Unnecessary Circus'
Charlie Sheen has been able to keep very little private as his divorce and custody case with Denise Richards plays out in the public eye.
Now Charlie has come to “Extra” for his very first in-depth interview about that highly-publicized battle.
“I just know that sometimes when you're given an opportunity to kind of set the record straight about things, it helps,” Charlie said.
For months Denise, 36, and Charlie, 41, have traded bitter accusations in their fight for custody over young daughters Sam and Lola. The “Two and a Half Men” star says it's got to stop.
“I wasn't going to say anything, but she continues to reveal what type of person and parent she is through her behavior,” Charlie said.
At one point, Denise insisted that her nannies be present during his visitations. Charlie fought back, accusing Denise of using the nannies as spies on his personal life.
“It's just so unfortunate because what's been lost in the entire, this ridiculous and unnecessary circus, is that the initial request was just to be able to hire my own nanny,” Charlie blasted. “That's all I asked for and an extra weekend. Cut to two months later, this is what I'm forced to deal with.”
But life is settling down for Charlie. He's engaged to Brooke Mueller and focusing on moving forward.
“We're just dealing with what's in front of us right now and getting through all this crap; getting back to our regularly scheduled life,” he said about more kids. “Then dealing with getting married and having our own family, which is exciting.”
Charlie joked, “You know they say this type of stuff builds character and all that, and what doesn't kill us makes us bitter – I mean stronger.”
Tune into “Extra” on Monday, Nov. 5 for more with Charlie Sheen.
