Rebel Wilson’s Con for Using Public Restrooms, Plus: Anne Hathaway on Changing Her Diet
“The Hustle” stars Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway are having a good time!
“Extra's” Renee Bargh caught up with the duo, who star as con artists teaming up to take down the men who have wronged them.
Who would be a better con artist in real life? Anne claimed it was Rebel, thanks to her improv skills. “You are so good at improv. You would come up with these delightfully elaborate things.”
Rebel said, “I don't think I could con anyone in real life, because I would feel so bad about it, and I also believe in karma.”
It turns out, however, that Wilson has pulled off a scheme in the past. “I was at Santa Monica Pier. I needed to use the bathrooms but they had locked them up for the night and I was like, 'Please, sir, I'm pregnant…' I have used that quite a few times because the way my stomach is, I could be pregnant.” She added, laughing, “I actually used that yesterday… In a really expensive restaurant, there was a little line for the ladies' bathroom and there was a disabled toilet. I said to the lady, 'Can I use this one?' It's a pregnancy thing…' I have done it a few times. I do a little, like, tummy grab and everything when I do it.”
Anne also set the record straight on headlines she had given up her vegan diet because of Matt Damon. While she did confirm ordering fish while they were out with her husband and a friend at a Michelin restaurant in Iceland, she told Renee, “I just want to say, I am not having three meals at a steakhouse now… If I could be a veganm I would be a vegan, but I feel better when I mix it up a little.”
As for the movie, Anne took on a bunch of accents for her role.
“I didn't want to do it,” Hathaway said. “I was already nervous about doing improv, doing improv against Rebel Wilson who ain't too bad at it, and having to improv in an accent I thought this could be a recipe for disaster… It all edited together okay, so thank goodness.”
Rebel added, “That's why she's got the Oscars and I've just got the MTV Movie Awards.”
Anne sad of the MTV Movie Award, “I haven't got one of those," and Rebel asked, "Guys, maybe for this?!” Anne interjected, “Come on, please.” Still, Rebel persisted: "Best comedic duo — is that a thing still?”
“The Hustle” opens in theaters May 10.
