Saturday is going to be a huge day for kids across the country!
The 31st Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards is taking place the same day as the March for Our Lives event, during which children and families will take the streets in Washington, D.C., and the entire nation in favor of gun control laws.
On Friday, “Extra” spoke to WWE superstar John Cena, who is returning as host, in-between rehearsals for the big show. When asked if the show will address the March, John shared, “This show is about kids and this show is about recognizing and celebrating kids and we want kids to have fun, but there is no way that we aren't going to recognize the fact that kids across this country are getting together and doing what they always do at Nickelodeon — let their voice be heard.”
John wasn’t surprised by the power of today’s kids. He emphasized, “I think it's extra-special that across the nation and hopefully extending outside the nation’s borders, that young people's voices will be heard. I think sometimes chaos breeds wonderful things and I think in this case, young people are realizing that they have a voice, too.”
