Hugh Jackman's "Logan" tore up the b.o. on Friday, according to Variety, raking in $33.1 million for the day.
The film's three-day estimate is now $80 million, making it a lock to become the highest-opening film of the year.
"Logan's" plot centers on an older Wolverine, who is lured out of hiding by a mutant (Dafne Keen) to undertake one last mission.
In a case of art imitating life, Jackman has vowed "Logan" will mark his last turn as the wildly popular character.
