The other shoe has dropped — singer Marc Anthony has officially filed to end his marriage with his model wife Shannon De Lima.
Anthony, 48, filed for divorce from De Lima, 28, stating in legal papers, obtained by TheDirty.com, that their two-year marriage was "irretrievably broken." The two, who have no children together, are dividing up their property in a sealed settlement.
Last week, Anthony and De Lima released a joint statement, saying, "After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage. We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter.”
As for what led to their split, a source recently told People magazine, "Marc is so busy with his career, touring and recording that he distances himself from his relationships without even knowing it. Even with his wife in tow, she can feel like he is on another planet. Marc likes to have a woman at home but he also likes to live like a bachelor. This doesn't work for very long.”
News of their split broke last month, just a day after Marc was seen smooching his ex, Jennifer Lopez, onstage at the Latin Grammy Awards.
