In a new interview with Byrdie, “This Is Us” actress Mandy Moore is revealing something she’s never shared before.
Though she was known for a "squeaky-clean" image during her teen years, her life outside of the spotlight was unconventional. She commented, “I’ve never really talked about this, but my parents are divorced. My mother left my father for a woman. And both of my two brothers are gay.”
Despite her parents’ split, Moore reiterates she had a harmonious family life growing up. "My parents loved each other; they did an incredible job raising all of us,”
As for how her family is doing nowadays, the 32-year-old revealed, "Everyone’s so much happier, richer, and more fulfilled, being their authentic selves.”
Moore also explained that she wanted her “own kind of normalcy” when she married at the young age of 24. In 2009, she tied the knot with Ryan Adams, splitting with him last year. Of the six-year marriage, she said, "I learned that wasn’t going to be the fruitful experience I wanted it to be.”
Mandy has moved on from Ryan and is now dating Dawes singer Taylor Goldsmith, who she says is changing her life in a healthy way. She shared, "My boyfriend is really good about vitamins, and just this morning I made a pact to start a vitamin routine. I want to have kids in the next couple years. I always said that I want to take care of myself to the best of my ability before I venture into that phase of my life.”
