Actress Valerie Harper was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009, which metastasized to her brain, but she’s still going strong at age 76.
Harper recently sat down with “Extra’s” Mario Lopez at Universal Studios Hollywood, where she opened up about how she’s doing, saying, “Oh, I’m feeling great. I have a Latin caregiver... and his name is Tony.” Tony is Valerie’s husband of almost 30 years, who has been caring for her since the diagnosis.
Though she is not cancer-free, Valerie revealed, "I have a new pill that I’ve only been taking the last couple of years, but it's working.”
Harper has been using her visibility to raise awareness for the Lung Force, an initiative created by the American Lung Association.
