Shonda Rhimes Dishes on Hillary Clinton's 'Scandal' Set Visit
Just after presenting the Legend Award to Debbie Allen at yesterday's Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, TV powerhouse Shonda Rhimes chatted with “Extra's” Tracey Edmonds exclusively backstage.
Shonda told Tracey all about Hillary Clinton's special visit to the set of “Scandal” earlier this week.
“She stopped by and hung out for a little,” said Rhimes, who has publicly supported Clinton's campaign. “It was a conversation. Kerry (Washington) poked her head in and said, 'Do you think it would be okay if Hillary stopped by?' And I was like, 'Of course it's okay if Hillary stops by.' We have a really great relationship and she's a really wonderful person.”
Rhimes went on, “It was really nice of her to relax for a moment off the campaign trail, and she sort of popped by and sat down and watched our fake Oval Office run and that was fun — it was fun for everybody on the set.”
