Elizabeth Vargas and Husband Headed for Divorce
ABC News reporter Elizabeth Vargas and husband Marc Cohn are reportedly calling it quits on their 12-year marriage, just as Vargas announced she has returned to rehab to battle her alcohol addiction.
Vargas went public with her struggle with alcoholism last November, and just recently relapsed while on vacation.
Her battle has now unfortunately taken a toll on her marriage to the singer/songwriter. A source told People.com, “Marc and Elizabeth are in divorce proceedings. The kids are with him in New York while she seeks treatment."
The couple, who wed in 2002, has two sons, Zachary, 11, and Samuel, 8.
Cohn, 55, told People, "On behalf of Elizabeth's family, we are in total support of her recovery and want her to be well."
In her own statement this week, Vargas said, "I feel I have let myself, my co-workers and most importantly my family down, and for that I am ashamed and sorry."
