Confessions of a Pretty Woman: Who Made Julia Roberts Nervous?
“Extra’s” Renee Bargh caught up with Julia Roberts at the Hollywood Film Awards 2013, where Julia was honored for her supporting actress role in “August: Osage County.”
Roberts talked about “August” co-star Meryl Streep and how working with Meryl made her nervous at first. Why? “Because I’m human!”
Roberts added it was amazing once they were on set together. “To be an actor of her caliber, you have to have such a depth of your own humanity and understand your place in the world... to be so gracious and to make everyone else feel comfortable, and that’s who she is.”
The actress also gushed over her recent “Mystic Pizza” reunion for the cover for Entertainment Weekly. “We had such a great day! Annabeth [Gish] and Lili [Taylor] both have very distinct voices, and as soon as they were sitting next to me, and they were both talking. It was like time stood still. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years!”
When Bargh asked why Matt Damon, who made his film debut with a very small role in "Pizza," wasn’t there, Julia jokingly cracked, “Because he was kind of an extra!”
“August: Osage County” opens in theaters Christmas Day.
