Uzo Aduba Is 'Grateful' After Tearful Emmy Win
On Sunday night, "Orange Is the New Black" star Uzo Aduba won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, her second consecutive Emmy for her role as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the hit Netflix show. The win made her the first actress to win both a drama and comedy Emmy for the same role.
Immediately after delivering an emotional acceptance speech onstage, Uzo chatted with "Extra's" Charissa Thompson backstage. She said of her feelings about winning, "A space of gratitude that will live on a shelf of gratitude... just a continuation of that feeling. I just feel thankful and grateful."
Another person the 34-year-old actress was thrilled to see was Tracy Morgan, who made a surprise appearance on the show just 15 months after his serious car accident.
She said, "The determination and understanding of somebody, the focus and willingness and the want to stay and stick with something and not to quit on himself, and to watch him still be funny, he was razor-sharp, his humor and delivery was on-point, his spirit was alive... wonderful to see him back, and the Tracy Morgan we know and love."
