Hugh Hefner’s Final Days
Over the past two years, Playboy icon Hugh Hefner's health was starting to decline.
TMZ reports Hefner started dealing with severe back problems in 2015, and his pain became worse after he suffered a crippling infection. The debilitating pain made it difficult for Hefner to walk without any help, and he was eventually bedridden.
Earlier this year, his son Cooper gave a health update, telling E! News, "I think because he has stepped back from the day-to-day operations of the business, people have thought that his health was not very good. The reality is he has a really bad back — that happens when you're 90 — and he is enjoying life at the mansion.”
Due to his health problems, Hugh's public appearances became very rare. One of his last appearances was at the Playboy Mansion last year when he announced the Playmate of the Year, Eugena Washington.

A few weeks before his passing, a source told the site that the 91-year-old caught a bug that his immune system couldn't fight off.
At the time of his death, Hugh was reportedly surrounded by his close friends and family, including sons Marston and Cooper, daughter Christie, and second wife Kimberley Conrad.
