James Corden Lands Legendary Singer for Carpool Karaoke
Funnyman James Corden is set to take over the airwaves after this year's Super Bowl with a special Sunday installment of “The Late Late Show” to air after “The Late Show.”
Corden, whose carpool karaoke videos have gone viral with guests like Adele, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber and just this week, Chris Martin, is stepping it up on Sunday with another legendary guest, Elton John.
“You do one with Adele and you think we'll never do one better than this, then Chris Martin, Elton John. I don't know who's next, but they're all pinch yourself moments.”
A performer in his own right, Corden revealed he doesn't get too nervous singing the stars' hits along with them, “Because you're singing along with their tracks, it feels sort of easier I think… I just love it, I feel lucky doing it, the great thing now, these artists, they throw themselves into it so much.”
The host opened up about some of his latest gets, like going on a road trip with Martin, “It was great, normally they take about an hour, and we shot with Chris for about three and a half hours. We were just having a blast.”
What about rapping with Adele to Nicki Minaj's “Monster”? “I didn't know her rap would be that good, it was crazy, crazy good.” He also dished on Justin Bieber, saying, “He's just adorable he's amazing.” James said he is forever indebted to Mariah Carey for being the first to agree to do it. “She just took a leap and went for it.”
