Caroline Kennedy Picked for Jury Duty
Former First Daughter Caroline Kennedy was selected for jury duty in Manhattan on Monday, to decide the fate of a man accused of dealing crack cocaine.
The only surviving child of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis will serve as a juror at the trial of Nelson Chatman in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan.
When she was questioned, the Daily Mail reports the 55-year-old stated, “My name is Caroline Kennedy. I live on the upper East Side. I've lived at my present address for 25 years. I live with my husband and two grown children. I have a law degree and I'm an author.”
Caroline didn't mention whether any member of her family had been a victim of a crime but did say her late brother, John F. Kennedy Jr., once worked as an assistant district attorney. John Jr. was killed in a plane crash in 1999.
In response to another question, she said she knew "a few people" with a drug problem.
Chatman's trial starts on Thursday and will last for about a week.
