P.M. Dawn's Prince Be Dead at 46
Attrell Cordes, known as Prince Be from the group P.M. Dawn, has died at age 45, Rolling Stone reports.
Cordes suffered from renal disease and diabetes and was partially paralyzed following a massive stroke in 2005.
On Facebook, P.M. Dawn member Doc. G posted an uplifting remembrance of Prince Be, writing, "Prince Be Rest In Peace Forever More, Pain from diabetes can't harm you anymore, My Heart is at Peace B-Cuz U suffered so long, Tell Grandma I said Hi & Stay Blisstatic & Strong."
Formed in 1988, P.M. Dawn became the first black rappers to hit #1 on the Hot 100 in 1991, with their highly regarded hit "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss." The group hit the Top 40 in the U.S. three more times in the '90s.
