Megyn Kelly Comes Roaring Back to TV, Targeting Matt Lauer

Megyn Kelly was back on the air last night, a year after she was fired by NBC.

Kelly came out swinging on her former network, Fox News, as she sat down with Tucker Carlson to discuss Ronan Farrow's book “Catch and Kill,” Matt Lauer, and NBC.

The book contains accusations that Lauer committed rape and other sexual misconduct, and that NBC engaged in a cover-up. Lauer and NBC have denied the allegations.

Megyn called for transparency from NBC, asking, “What did they know and when did they know it?” She later added, “They haven't been specific about what monies were paid out to whom. Show us the money.”

Kelly suggested, “The number-one thing that needs to happen now is they need to release any and all Matt Lauer accusers from their confidentiality agreements. NBC says it has nothing to hide. Great. Let's not hide anything. Show us all of the agreements, the enhanced severance agreements that were reached or at least the numbers, so we can see which ones pop out, which ones were super high. Are they all women? Do they all have a connection to Matt Lauer?”

She also blasted NBC for conducting their own internal investigation into Matt Lauer. “There needs to be an outside investigation into this company. They investigated themselves, that doesn't work.” The journalist noted that Fox News, CBS, NPR, and the NFL all had outside investigators, telling Tucker “that is how it is done.”

Kelly was fired from the “Today” show in 2018 after she defended blackface Halloween costumes. She told Carlson she is considering coming back to television.
