Did Bill Cosby Leak Stories About His Daughter's Drug Use?
In the latest news slamming Bill Cosby, the comedian reportedly once leaked a drug story about his daughter in an effort to cover up a story about his womanizing with showgirls in Las Vegas.
A journalist source told Page Six that Cosby leaked a story in 1989 to the National Enquirer about daughter Erinn's battle with drug and alcohol abuse, just as the tabloid was about to report a story of Cosby “swinging with Sammy Davis Jr. and some showgirls in Las Vegas.”
The source, who was working at the National Enquier at the time, said, “My editor told me that daddy Cosby was the source. He ratted out his flesh and blood.”
Meanwhile, the sexual abuse allegations against the 77-year-old comedian continue to mount.
Cosby gave a performance on Friday in Melbourne, Florida and backstage told Florida Today that “I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn't have to answer to innuendos. People should fact check. People shouldn't have to go through that and shouldn't answer to innuendos.”
“Extra” spoke with HLN host Dr. Drew Pinsky about Cosby refusing to comment on the situation.
Dr. Drew said, “The silence is beginning to fuel the frenzy. You wonder if it's sex addiction… If he were to come forward and say, 'This was a period in my life when I was sick. I didn't know what I was doing,' I think there's a potential of redemption there.”
Cosby's lawyer, Marty Singer, released a statement on Friday regarding the "alleged decades-old events" against his client, saying they are "unsubstantiated stories” and asking the media to stop the "vilification of Mr. Cosby."
