Is Bruce Jenner Putting Transgender Plans on Hold After Fatal Car Crash?
Reality star Bruce Jenner is reportedly delaying his plans to become a woman… in order to deal with the aftermath of the horrific car accident that left one woman dead.
A source told RadarOnline.com, “The interview with Diane Sawyer, the filming of the docu-series and the transition will carry on, but there is a delay [in the wider process].”
The insider said the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reality TV dad, who could potentially be facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, “is giving all of his time and energy right now into helping out with the investigation and in making sure that there is peace for those close to the deceased.”
The Kardashians' show is also on hold this week, says Radar, as the E! network decides how to handle the accident. “Because of the accident, people who Bruce hasn't spoken to in forever are reaching out to him to offer support for his grieving process,” the source said.
They added, “But they are also letting him know that they support his transition too. Everything happens for a reason and Bruce is a firm believer in this. He was in such a great place before this happened and he will be in that place again after the dust has settled.”
Meanwhile, the woman who was driving one of the cars in the accident was allegedly driving with a suspended license, but denies being the cause of the accident, which occurred on Saturday on Pacific Coast Highway near Corral Canyon Road in Malibu.
According to reports, Jenner rear-ended a white Lexus after the Lexus rear-ended a Toyota Prius, driven by Hollywood agent Jessica Marie Steindorff.
On impact by Jenner's black Cadillac Escalade, which was hauling a trailer carrying an off-road vehicle, the Lexus was pushed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a Hummer. The Lexus' female driver, Kim Howe, 69, was killed.
Steindorff's lawyer told NY Daily News, “The story that she was making an illegal U-turn is 100 percent false. She was meeting with a client in Zuma. She has the text messages that prove it. She met with detectives today. Nothing looks to be criminal. She was a victim.”
A DMV source confirmed to the News that the 29-year-old had her license suspended twice in the past, once in 2012 for an “unsatisfied judgment,” and again in 2013 for a failure to appear.
The site also says Steindorff told the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department that she stopped her vehicle for traffic that was backed up at a red light.
