Jason Aldean Is ‘Excited’ to Return to Las Vegas for ACM Awards
“Extra's” Renee Bargh caught up with country music superstar Jason Aldean at the iHeartRadio Theater in L.A. before he took the stage at his iHeart Country album-release party, where he performed songs featured on his new album “Rearview Town.”
When asked how he felt returning to Las Vegas to perform on the Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday after the tragic Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting last October, Jason shared, “I think anytime we go back it's going to be a little weird... Over the years, I've experience at lot of career highs there and I've had one horrible memory and I got a million great ones. I'm excited to go back.”
The two-time, reigning and current ACM Entertainer of the Year was onstage when gunfire started at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. As for how he's been able to cope with the tragedy, he commented, “You take it day by day... The big thing for me was my son was born in December. He was the one that helped us get our mind off of it and focused on something else. That was a lifesaver. He actually gets a lot of credit for that. He was born two months to the day after that happened. It's something you never forget, and I don't think you ever quite completely get over.”

View StoryJason has stayed in touch with some of the survivors of the tragedy. He said, “The week after it happened, we went back to the hospital and visited some of the patients... There was a lady that was in a coma when we were there and [they] didn't expect her to live and we just actually went to Phoenix and saw her. She recovered from it and came out of the coma and she's standing up on her own... Those are the feel-good stories... It's cool to see.”
“Rearview Town” drops today.
