Céline Dion Is Returning to the Stage to Celebrate René Angélil’s Life in Las Vegas
Tonight, Céline Dion is scheduled to take the stage to honor late husband René Angélil in a “Celebration of Life” event at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Though Dion is not singing at the tribute, it is rumored that she'll be speaking about René, who died in January after a battle with throat cancer.
Producer David Foster, who played a major role in Céline's early success, is scheduled to perform and speak at the tribute, which will also be attended by René's family, including his brother Andre, daughter Anne Marie, son Jean-Pierre, son Patrick, and son René-Charles.
The tribute will be live streamed tonight at 10 p.m. ET on reneangelilcelebrationoflife.com.
Later this month, Céline will resume her performances at Caesars on February 23. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Céline is doing it for René. "It is what René wanted. She knew that. She will do it for him. It will be her way of finding strength to cope with his loss, and performing their music will be when she's in the best frame of mind. It's her life to perform. It's what she does best, and she will be doing it for René.”
