Taye Diggs Wants to Work with Jussie Smollett Again
Taye Diggs is having a good summer. The actor was in NYC with “Extra” at our WeWork offices just before donating $100,000 to a New York City public school art program.
Diggs broke the news he's dating someone new, “I am dating,” he said, adding, “I just started seeing someone that I'm into so I'm pretty hyped about that.” He said with a smile, “I probably shouldn't have said that. Hey, you heard it first.”
The star also said he still stands behind Jussie Smollett, who was accused of staging an attack on himself. Smollett has denied any involvement in the alleged crime.
Taye, who had a recurring role on Season 3 of “Empire,” said, “He's my boy and I will always be in support of him and that's that.” He went on, “It's a very interesting time today. All I know is that you need to be a friend, and a friend isn't a friend only when things are great, that isn't what a friend is, that's a fan.”

A fan of Jussie's work, he said, “We've been texting. We are trying to find something we can work on together because people have no idea how talented that boy is, young man… so selfishly I want to get some of that, so we got to figure that out.”
Diggs' fans are happy that he will be back as coach Bill Baker on the football drama, “All American.” “We got the second season… Netflix took the reins.”
As for his donation to AdoptAClassroom.org, he said, “I wouldn't be where I am today if it were not for these educators, so I feel for them, and it's nice to be in a position to help.”
