Jerry Seinfeld's Take on Roseanne Barr: ‘I Love People That Crash and Burn’
Last night, Jerry Seinfeld premiered his newest season of “Comedian in Cars Getting Coffee” in New York, where he also weighed in on fellow comedian Roseanne Barr.
Jerry told “Extra's” AJ Calloway, “I kind of like that story because I think you know I love people that crash and burn. I really enjoy that and a lot of people have done it in a lot of different ways… And I like to kind of rate them and compare them.”
“I don't think anybody ever just destroyed an entire career by doing that,” he continued. “All she had to do was press 'share' and it was all over, so I thought that was kind of cool 'cause it was different… You know, drugs and sex, those are the usual things. This was something new and I thought it was inventive.”
Jerry isn't sure that a Conner family spin-off will work without Roseanne. He explained, “Uh, well... you've gotta have the comedian in there... I think it'll... it'll be a different kind of show,” adding, “But you know, TV's a tough business and I guess they'll give it a shot.”
The newest round of his “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" will feature big names, including the late Jerry Lewis, Dave Chappelle, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Ellen DeGeneres. Aside from the stars, there's a lot of coffee, too! Jerry admitted that he's drinking a lot of it, saying, “Probably six a day.”

View StoryJerry pointed out that he didn't know the series would be a hit, commenting, “I thought it would be just for comedian geeks — I never thought it would be, like, for regular people.”
The comedy geek himself turns 65 next April, but he has nothing big planned. He said, “You know what? I'm having a good time… My wife made a surprise party for me at my 50th, and that's enough.”
“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” streams July 6 on Netflix.
