Larry David Feels the Bern, Debuts Spot-on Bernie Sanders Impression on 'SNL'
Tracy Morgan made a triumphant return to "SNL" on Saturday, a year and a half after suffering a traumatic brain injury. He seemed like his old self in several skits as he performed his hosting duties, including one in which he was reunited with his "30 Rock" co-stars Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, and Alec Baldwin.
The biggest splash on the show came in the cold open, during a skit making light of the recent Democratic presidential debate.
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Seinfeld" star Larry David debuted a note-perfect Bernie Sanders homage.
David played on the perception that Sanders is cranky about everything, complaining, "Hey, what's the deal with emails anyway? I forgot my password the other day, so they say, 'We'll email you a new one.' But I can't get into my email to get the password. I mean, talk about a ball buster!"
David also sent-up Sanders' less than polished image, joking, "I don't have a super PAC, I don't even have a backpack. I carry my stuff around loose in my arms like a professor, you know, between classes."
Kate McKinnon's Hillary nervously played along, eventually declaring Sanders to be "cool" like a song of the summer. "But I'm the birthday song, guys, and you're gonna be singing me till the day you die."
