Could There Be a ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Movie After Show Sweeps Emmys? Daniel Levy Answers
“Schitt's Creek” swept the comedy categories at the Emmys, making TV history!
“Extra's” Jenn Lahmers got a chance to ask the cast the question we are all dying to know: Could there be a "Schitt's Creek" movie in the future?
Daniel Levy answered, “Oh, wow, a lot of people have been asking me that…”
True to form, co-star Annie Murphy jumped in, saying, “It's been me…”
Dan smiled, agreeing, “It's been Annie.”
More seriously, he went on to say, “This has been the best way we could've ended the show. If an idea pops into my head, it has to be really good at this point because this is the way to say goodbye... I would love to work with these beautiful people again.”
Karen Robinson added, “I cannot with what is happening tonight! I'm so incredibly lucky to be a part of this, to see all my favorite people win and express themselves. I hope there's a movie… I need a job.”
Biggest Moments from the 2020 Emmys
View StoryThe sweep started on Saturday at the Creative Arts Emmys, as the show nabbed Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Contemporary Costumes. Sunday night, Catherine O'Hara, who played the family matriarch Moira Rose, won Outstanding Lead Actress and her TV husband Eugene Levy aka Johnny Rose won Outstanding Lead Actor. Then on-screen siblings Daniel (David Rose) and Annie (Alexis Rose) took home the supporting Emmys.
Next, Dan won Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and shared a win for Outstanding Director for a Comedy Series with Andrew Cividino. The show's biggest win of the night, of course, was for Outstanding Comedy Series.
