David Duchovny Says ‘X-Files’ Reboot Is ‘a Relief’
David Duchovny joined “Extra's” Charissa Thompson at Universal Studios Hollywood, where he revealed he and “X-Files” co-star Gillian Anderson had been pushing for a reboot of the hit series that ended 13 years ago.
“It wasn't a surprise, it was more of a relief… this is the right time,” said Duchovny. “I'm shooting right now!”
Duchovny and Anderson were spotted on the Vancouver set, stepping back into their roles as Mulder and Scully. Rumors have been swirling that the partners will be working on a UFO case. “X-Files” will return for six new episodes, scheduled to premiere January 24 on FOX.

David also plays a no-nonsense homicide detective taking on a missing persons case in 1960s California in his new series “Aquarius” on NBC. The show is set two years before the infamous Manson murders.
He revealed to Charissa he does a lot of his own stunts in the show. He joked, “I do whatever I can. Whenever you see me drinking a cup of coffee, that's me drinking a cup of coffee.”
