Leonardo DiCaprio Remembers Luke Perry as 'Kindest, Sweetest Human Being'
It was a huge night in Hollywood as the A-list cast turned out for the highly anticipated premiere of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
"Extra's" Renee Bargh was with Leonardo DiCaprio, who remembered co-star Luke Perry, who passed away from a stroke in March. Luke plays actor Scott Lancer in the Quentin Tarantino film.
DiCaprio described Luke as "the kindest, sweetest human being you could ever encounter." He went on, "I grew up with him on '90210,' looking up to him as literally the coolest dude on earth, and honestly, when I was on set, I was starstruck."
"We got to sit down and chat," Leo remembered. "He couldn't have been a more amazing human being. It's a real tragic loss."
Leo plays Rick Dalton in the movie, opposite Brad Pitt, who plays his stunt double and best bud Cliff Booth. Renee commented that it was forever in the making for the two stars to share the screen. Leo replied, "It certainly felt like the right fit for this movie. There is no actor that says no to Quentin Jerome Tarantino, first off, and then the idea of this two sides to the same coin, this sort of actor that's down and out and his stunt double that is helping him navigate his way through Hollywood is a very interesting dynamic to set up in Hollywood in 1969."
