“Extra's” Jenn Lahmers caught up with Christina via video chat at home. She admitted it was a bit hectic, saying, "If you hear somebody screaming… yeah, everyone's a little pent-up. There's definitely lots of excess energy… all stuck inside together, it's a little crazy.”
The star of HGTV's “Christina on the Coast” has two kids with her “Flip or Flop” co-star ex-husband Tarek, and welcomed a baby boy, Hudson, with new husband Ant Anstead seven months ago.
She told Jenn about their blended family life during the coronavirus crisis, saying, “[Tarek and I] live two streets away, so that makes it a lot easier, and actually we're kind of better able to divide and conquer. One of us can help out the other while the other one is homeschooling. Also, we can walk back and forth to each other's houses, so that's actually really been a good thing.”
Anstead also gave an update on Hudson, saying, “Finally sleeping through the night, thank God! I feel like a whole new person. The first few months are so hard. I thrive on sleep, like, sleep is my best friend.”
The 36-year-old also thrives on a healthy lifestyle after discovering she suffers from Hashimoto's disease. “When you have a low thyroid production, that affects so many things. It affects your hormone levels, it affects your energy levels — on and on and on… So when I was going through the divorce, I was having horrible stomach pains and I just felt super exhausted… and the doctor said, 'Oh, this is stress,' and I was like, 'No, it isn't stress.'"
She found help from her friend, nutritionist Cara Clark, and they put their tips in a new book, “The Wellness Remodel.”
Christina explained, “Healthy eating is so important for so many reasons. Our bodies are just not built to eat junk… That's why the book has a ton of healthy recipes. It also has information on mindset, meditation — which is so important, especially right now — and dealing with stress.”
“The Wellness Remodel” is now available for purchase.
