Tamron Hall Leaving ’Today Show' After Megyn Kelly Addition

Tamron Hall's time at NBC and MSNBC has come to an end. The talk show host has decided to leave when her contract expires this month, despite being offered a multi-million dollar contract to stay.
The network announced her departure Wednesday in a statement from NBC News. "Yesterday was her last day as an anchor on both networks. Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at 'Today' and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay.” The statement continued, "We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best.”
Hall, who has spent the last 10 years with the company, said in a statement, "I'm also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.”
The news of her departure comes on the heels of the announcement that former FOX News host Megyn Kelly will be added to the NBC News team. The plan was to have Megyn host an hour of the “Today Show,” but it was unclear which hour.
The shakeup left fans to chatter on social media as to how Kelly would fit into the slots and where Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee might be placed.
During her tenure, Hall was part of several NBC, MSNBC and Investigation Discovery shows, and won an Edward R. Murrow Award and a 2010 Emmy.
