Angelina Jolie Speaks for the First Time on ‘Difficult’ Divorce from Brad Pitt
Months after her split from Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie is finally breaking her silence!
During an exclusive interview with BBC reporter Yalda Hakim, Jolie addressed their impending divorce, saying, "It was a very difficult time and we're a family. And we will always be a family. And we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it.”
As for how she is coping, Angelina shared, "Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family — we've all been through a difficult time… My focus is my children, our children, and my focus is finding this way through and as I said, we are and forever will be a family, and so that is my, that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer.”
On Monday, Hakim spoke to "Extra" on Skype, saying, "She just wanted to sit down in a space that she was comfortable in and speak very candidly."
Hakim, who was born in Afghanistan, added about their "relaxed" conversation, "She was aware of my background where I was coming from... I think that's where our rapport really built right from the very beginning." Watch!
Angelina is currently promoting her new film "First They Killed My Father,” attending both a press event and the world premiere in Cambodia with her children over the weekend.
