Skier Nick Goepper Tells Us What Everyone Is Buzzing About at the Winter Olympics
“Extra” caught up with U.S. Olympic freestyle skier Nick Goepper, who recently touched down in South Korea for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
What was his first impression? He told us it is “really cold and humid,” adding that South Korea looks a little like his home state, saying, “The scenery reminds me of Indiana with the rolling hills and trees.”
Goepper, who took the bronze at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, said he is “looking forward to sharing experiences with my family, friends and teammates. I was a bit of a lone wolf in Sochi, so I definitely want to make the most of this experience.”
Maybe those experiences will include Korean BBQ and karaoke. According to Nick, “It's all anyone is talking about.”
The athlete also opened up about his involvement in Love Over Bias, a Procter & Gamble campaign promoting equality. He said, “It's been an honor to be involved with the Love Over Bias campaign, because the message falls in line with the values that were instilled in me growing up. My dad always told me that it doesn't matter what someone looks like or what they believe – we all bleed red. And that's the way it should be, no matter your creed or color, everyone should have equal opportunity.”
