Video: George Clooney, Ryan Gosling & Others Help Chris Cornell’s Family Launch Campaign for Human Rights
Chris Cornell's family and famous friends are uniting in his honor to fight for social issues and human rights.
In a new video, his children Toni, Lili and Christopher and stars like George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Jimmy Fallon and Barbra Streisand vow to take on Cornell's pledge to help the world's most vulnerable people.
Cornell, who died in May 2017, wrote and performed the title song for the film “The Promise,” about the Armenian Genocide.
The proceeds from “The Promise” movie were donated to human rights causes and used to created the Promise Institute for Human Rights at UCLA School of Law. Cornell also donated his earnings from the song to the International Rescue Committee. The song “The Promise” is now up for a Grammy.
Last month, the rocker's wife Vicky created The Chris Cornell Scholarship fund for students at UCLA School of Law. The scholarship honors Chris' commitment to human rights.
