Blake Shelton’s PDA-Packed ‘Voice’ Performance with Gwen Stefani, and His Message for Miranda
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's love story played out on “The Voice” stage last night. The couple, who got together while working on the hit show, debuted their duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" from Shelton's upcoming country album, “If I'm Honest.”
The two have never been more honest with their feelings, gazing into each other's eyes the entire time they sang. “Extra” learned the packed-on-PDA performance was pre-taped and took two takes. After one take, Blake gave her a hug and kissed the top of her head.
Blake was with “Extra's" Renee Bargh before the show, gushing over his girlfriend and saying he has never seen people from other countries be interested in his music before, but has noticed it on social media because of her. “It's the power of Gwen Stefani, man.”
Anticipating getting on stage with his girlfriend, he said, “It's not like anything I think that she and I have ever done before. This is such an honest song just about kind of how we got started.”
Opening up about the song's inception, he said, “Originally, when I started the song, I was just, I was only trying to impress her, you know, just trying to write her a song to get her excited about me, and I sent her the song half-finished and she wrote the other half of the song, so it's such a 50/50 emotionally-invested thing.”
Getting giddy, he said, “It's already fun just talking about it — the fact that this is happening is exciting.”
Gwen was obviously excited too, going on a social media binge backstage, while showing off her glam look.

He also told Renee he had a lot of fun watching Gwen's epic James Corden carpool karaoke with Oscar winners George Clooney and Julia Roberts, saying Gwen gave him a sneak peek on her laptop. “I was like, 'Wow…' There's George Clooney and Julia Roberts sitting in the back seat and they're like, 'Oh, my God, it's Gwen Stefani,' and they're singing her songs to her.”
Blake and Gwen also had fun at the premiere of “The Angry Birds Movie” this weekend with Gwen's kiddos, “If you go to that movie and don't have fun, there has to have been a medical emergency — it's so good.”
After “The Voice,” Blake headed to his iHeartRadio album-release show at The Honda Stage, where Gwen crashed his private performance.
He also opened up about another track called "I Bet You Still Think About Me.” While he didn't mention ex-wife Miranda Lambert by name, many believe he was talking about her when he described the song.
"It's basically what it sounds like," Shelton said. "At some point, whether you go through a divorce or a breakup or whatever, once you get past the anger and the frustration of it all, you kind of go into the sad part of it where it's just like, 'Gosh, how come that didn't work out?'" And that's what this song is about. 'Even though stuff didn't work out, I bet you miss me a little bit.' It's a sad song."
