The Captain & Tennille’s Daryl Dragon Dead at 76
Singer Daryl Dragon of the musical duo The Captain & Tennille, has died in Arizona, reports TMZ. He was 76.
His publicist told the site that Daryl died of renal failure while in hospice care. It is also believed he was suffering from Parkinson's disease.
Dragon was married to his musical partner Toni Tennille, from 1975-2014, remaining great friends until his death. She was with him when he died.
The duo was best known for 1970s hits like “Muskrat Love” (1976) and “Do That to Me One More Time" (1979). Their hit “Love Will Keep Us Together” won the Record of the Year at the 1975 Grammys.
Tennille told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement, "He was a brilliant musician with many friends who loved him greatly. I was at my most creative in my life, when I was with him."
