Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton Are Related?! Find Out Their Family Connection
“Extra” can exclusively reveal that political opponents Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are related!
MyHeritage.com's genealogy site Geni.com researched Donald and Hillary's families and found they are actually related through shared English ancestors.
Geni discovered the first Duke and Duchess of Lancaster are their 18th great grandparents. John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster, married Katherine Swynford, Duchess of Lancaster, and John and Katherine are Donald and Hillary's shared 18th great grandparents. This makes the presidential candidates 19th cousins!
“Extra” caught up with author A.J. Jacobs, who teamed up with MyHeritage.com and studied the research done by Geni. He explained, “Their 19th great grandfather is King Edward III so there is precedent for ruling a country, it's in their genes,” adding that the frenemies can both boast that they have royal blood.
Here's the big question… will former friends Hillary and Donald put their differences aside once they've found out they're related? Trump just told “Extra's” AJ Calloway last week that he has a big problem with the email scandal. “I would imagine she can't make it through that problem, but we'll see what happens. She had a terrible tenure as Secretary of State. She did a terrible job."
A.J. Jacobs said perhaps the two families will break bread with the new revelation. “It's possible now that they know they are cousins that they will spend Thanksgiving together and become best of friends… anything could happen.” He smiled, “It's all one big happy -- or not so happy -- family.”
