Nicole Kidman Reveals in Eulogy How Dad Helped Her Through Tom Cruise Divorce
Actress Nicole Kidman delivered a touching tribute to her father, the respected clinical psychologist Dr. Antony Kidman, who died suddenly last week at age 75.
At a small church service on Friday in Sydney, the Oscar winner shared fond memories and how her dad helped her through life's struggles, including her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001, reports the Daily Mail.
Kidman said her father flew to be with her when after the divorce and told her, “Nic, it's going to be okay. It isn't what it could've been, it isn't what it should have been, it is what it is.”
The actress continued, “I'm so lucky to be his daughter, and that he chose my mother to make me with. The only regret he'd have is that he's not here to see his beautiful grandchildren grow up. And that he's not here to take care of Jay [his beloved wife Janelle]… It's okay Papa, we're here to take care of her.”
Kidman's husband, Keith Urban, was with her, along with their daughters, Sydney Rose, 6, and Faith, 3.
