‘Trainwreck’ Star Amy Schumer on Self-Image, Deserving Love, and Feminism
Amy Schumer is a comedian with a fearless, feminist voice. She's riding a rocket to superstardom, and she won't let anyone tell her she can't because she's a girl.
“Extra's” Terri Seymour recently sat down with Amy and “Trainwreck” co-star Bill Hader to chat about their new movie.

Amy also talked with Glamour for their August issue, in which she explains how after years of criticism, she has finally created a healthy self-image.
“For women, we're taught to eat less until we disappear, and trained to believe that if you don't look like everyone else, then you're unlovable… and men are not trained that way. Men can look like whatever and still date a supermodel. I'm proud of what I said. I think it's good to see somebody saying: I have a belly, and I have cellulite, and I still deserve love.”
Amy describes the real key as being something other than confidence. “I have looked at myself in the mirror and thought, this is how you look. Embrace that and move on… but confidence has nothing to do with how you look. I feel happiest when I'm with friends and I'm working really hard.”
When asked whether she would like to be the new face of feminism, Amy insisted, “I don't try to be feminist. I just am. It's innately inside me. I have no interest in trying to be the perfect feminist, but I do believe feminists are in good hands with me.”
Terri Seymour also got a nice surprise when she showed up for her "Trainwreck" interview and a special guest was sitting in for Bill Hader… none other than "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm! Jon, pretending to be Bill, shared some of his best "SNL" character impressions and chatted about the palpable, on-set sexual tension with Amy.

With “Trainwreck” hitting theaters July 17, Amy is everywhere. When asked how she felt about having all eyes on her, she responded, “Oh my God. I'll cross my legs.”
