Bill O’Reilly Teases Upcoming Interview with President Trump
Fox News host Bill O'Reilly is one of the most powerful names in news, and he is getting ready to sit down with the most powerful man in the world, his friend President Donald Trump.
O'Reilly recently sat down with only “Extra's” AJ Calloway to chat about his upcoming interview and all the latest news coming out of Washington, D.C., saying, “Walls going up… sanctuary cities going down… no more Muslims… there's a lot of stuff going on.”
Bill revealed that he has talked to President Trump since he took office. “I've talked to him on the phone a few times, and the first time after he was elected when I talked to him he demanded I call him 'Mr. President,' which I would do anyway — he didn't have to remind me. O'Reilly did it right off the bat, explaining, “Because I respect the office. You know, I've known him 30 years and I'm calling him Mr. President.” He added, “You know, look, it's surreal and it is, and I've said this before, the most amazing story I've seen in my 40 years of journalism.”
O'Reilly also weighed in on how Mr. President has been doing since taking office a little under weeks ago, observing, “If you voted for Donald Trump, you are overjoyed. If you did not, you are going to move to Portugal.”
Heading to the White House for a Super Bowl Sunday live interview, O'Reilly said, “It'll be broadcast about 4 p.m. in the afternoon. Anything could happen… It's going to be a very policy-driven interview, but at the same time, it's like, 'Here you are in the White House,' so there will be some personal stuff as well.” He pointed out that the first question will likely be personal, commenting, “We'll ease into it, but I'm not going to tell anybody what I'm asking, so it'll all be a surprise.”
The 67-year-old also gave his “No Spin Zone” take on Trump's counselor Kellyanne Conway, who has gotten a lot of heat from the press. O'Reilly argued that she was instrumental in Trump's win. “Brilliant, turned it around for Trump, no question.” He laughed off her “alternative facts” debacle, saying, “I don't care about any of that stuff… don't care about it." When AJ asked, “If you were doing that interview and she said that to you, what would your response be?” Bill responded, "I would say, 'Good, Kellyanne, if you want to use the term 'alternative facts,' that sounds like a breakfast cereal to me.”
O'Reilly, busy as an author as well, is getting ready to release his latest book. “My new book comes out March 28. It's the civil war between traditional Americans who live a certain way and the snowflakes who want safe spaces and want everything to be perfect, and that's a growing group.”
